Jackson Family Wines Sues E&J Gallo Over Trademark Infringement
(Santa Rosa, CA) — Santa Rosa-based Jackson Family Wines is suing E&J Gallo Winery over alleged trademark infringement. Jackson Family Wines complains the Gallo wine giant’s brand name for its “Cask & Cream” is “confusingly similar” to their “La Crema” trademark. A civil complaint goes on to claim that “under these circumstances, consumer confusion is inevitable.” La Crema is sold nationwide and is one of the country’s top 15 best-selling bottled wines. Gallo currently uses Cask & Cream for its liquors and plans to extend the brand to wines that will be made in St. Helena.
