Santa Rosa officials have reopened a section of Highway 12 that was closed to eastbound traffic for several hours on Thursday morning because of a broken underground water pipe that flooded and damaged the road.
While traffic was flowing in both directions by about 8:45 a.m., one eastbound lane remained closed between Mission Boulevard and Middle Rincon Road as city crews worked to repair the pipe and road, officials said.
The work would likely continue into the afternoon on the pipe, said Adriane Mertens, a city spokeswoman. She added that it was uncertain whether the road repairs would be completed on Thursday.
