Teen Girl Reportedly Abducted Out of Santa Rosa Was a Prank: Police

The reported abduction of a 15-year-old Vallejo girl in Santa Rosa was a prank, police said Thursday after further investigation.

The incident was reported Wednesday afternoon and prompted an Amber Alert, which was deactivated Thursday morning when the girl was “located safe and well at her residence with her family,” according to police.

Police said the girl’s boyfriend and his friends decided to “abduct” her as a joke, and that as soon as the teen was in the van she realized who she was with and that the group was taking on a road trip to Los Angeles.
