Fall in Sonoma County means grape harvests, pumpkin patches and the county’s largest used book sale hosted by Friends of the Santa Rosa Libraries. From Friday, Oct. 6 to Monday, Oct. 9, 50,000 books, DVDs, CDs, jigsaw puzzles and more will be on sale at the Veterans Memorial Building in Santa Rosa. When the doors open to the public, shoppers will eagerly head to their favorite sections – be it recent fiction, mysteries, literature, history, art, music, cooking, science and nature, social sciences or children’s books. There they will browse for popular titles, hard-to-find gems or unexpected treasures that pique their interest.
Last year’s event generated $38,000 in sales! That means literary bargain-hunters went home with a lot of treasures at a cost of $2 or less for most books, plus more than 500 “fill-your-own” bags at $5 each on the last day.
