Her tech-driven approach to the painful process of collecting insurance money and rebuilding has drawn more than $50 million of venture capital, with backers including GV, Alphabet Inc.’s investment arm and billionaire Vinod Khosla’s eponymous firm. It’s a strategy she says could also be useful for people who want a turnkey solution for designing and constructing a house anywhere—disaster or not.
