Local libraries reopen for part-time, in-person service

The Sonoma County Library began the process of slowly reopening for in-person patronage last week. Patrons are encouraged to make a reservation through the library’s online form for one of the library’s hourlong “express service” sessions. Eleven regional libraries will be opening their doors twice a day for one hour each. With the exception will be the Central Library in Santa Rosa, which will be open seven days a week, the rest of the county’s libraries will be open Monday through Saturday.

Library increasing student access to resources

Sonoma County Library has expanded its Student OneCard partnership — which provides local students access to public library resources using their student ID number — to include 16 of 40 Sonoma County school districts, giving nearly 50,000 Sonoma County public school students access to library resources.

The library has been working with additional districts this spring and summer to provide barrier-free access to more students in the community.
